About the Founder

Meet Wayra Salem

Wayra Salem is an artist, healer, sensorimotor art therapist, and holistic coach whose work is rooted in personal transformation and creative expression. With a deep passion for helping others navigate grief and healing, she developed Splatter Art Therapy® (SAT) and Immersive SAT®, innovative practices that combine art, mindfulness, and emotional release. Wayra’s journey through loss and personal growth has led her to integrate indigenous wisdom and global healing traditions into her work,  offering a unique approach that empowers individuals to embrace grief and all life has to offer as pathways to adaptation and renewal.

Healing makes us deeply human; it integrates growing from all experiences and it invites us into creating and partaking in a profound present moment, where each breath is a gift.

Honoring Their Legacy is dedicated to breaking down barriers in order to obtain optimal wellness and recovery by providing free to low cost unique and unconventional services for veterans, people with chronic conditions (such as type 1 diabetes), and individuals who have faced challenges maintaining sobriety.

Our mission involves:

We partner with differing organizations and wellness facilities nationally to provide an individualized comprehensive wellness plan, that incorporates varying services close to where you live. Some services that can be a part of your wellness plan, are including but not limited to:

Innovative Therapies:
Flotation tanks, salt baths, light therapy, cold plunges, massage, stretch sessions, NeurOptimal® (Neurofeedback), and Splatter Art Therapy®

Unconventional Fitness:
Running clubs, running races- Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, cycling, triathlons, martial arts and gym memberships.

Creative Community Building:
connecting people to meetings of varying sorts, artistic workshops, drum circles, and places where individuals can create shared experiences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What to Expect for In-Person and Virtual Sessions

Every individual is unique, therefore keep in mind each session will be tailored to meet your needs.

If you consent to spiritual applications being a part of sessions, we will start with a grounding exercise, meditation, prayer and breathwork. Then an open space is provided to share any intentions or prayer requests for yourself, family, community, and/or the world at large.

From there it is important to know where you are at (mentally, emotionally, and spiritually) in that very moment. Often times outside all we discuss or experience, we can forget about how our current state can impact and flow into different areas and aspects of our day and lives.

Then we transition into art, creativity, coaching etc. Sometimes movement, tapping or different tools can be implemented. Please keep in mind, every person and every session is completely different, depending- maybe none of the above will occur, a session could start with silence and tears, or art. Some sessions may be more filled with movement, meditation and breathwork.

Resources and appointment summaries will be sent via email with in 3 days after the appointment.
